IIT Gandhinagar is one of the eight new Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) announced by the Ministry of Human Resource Development in 2008. The Institute began operating in a temporary campus at Vishwakarma Government Engineering College, Chandkheda, mentored by Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. IITGn is developing permanent campus campus at a 400 acre site in Gandhinagar. The institute took possession of over 400 acres of land in August 2012. The institute will function as a fully residential campus and will be constructed in phases. The site is located on the eastern bank of the river Sabarmati. The site lies between the co-ordinates 23012’16”N, 72014’46”E and 23014’5”N, 720 41’46” E.IITGN will assign task of comprehensive external infrastructure services for campus of about 1200 students. This includes provision of enough design details required for expansion of infrastructure from 1200 students to 2400 and 4800 student campus.

SERVICES PROVIDED :

  • Detailed Geometric and Engineer Design of Cement Concrete Roads (7.5 Km) & Pathways as per relevant IRC code.
  • Water Supply including necessary design / details of water treatment plants, water services center, fresh water supply network, recycle water supply network etc.,
  • Sewage system including design / details of swage pumping station, sewage treatment plant, sewage network etc.,
  • Storm water drain including design / details of roof top water collection network with its tanks, storm water collection network, storm water disposal network etc.,
  • Electro mechanical, PE and structural design services for above referred utility structures as well as other proposed structure in external infrastructure works like entrance gate, Amphi theatre etc.
